Popular e-books and digital audiobooks available for free 24/7 at Lubbock Public Libraries

LUBBOCK, Texas (Press release) – As people read and listen to more and more books on their smartphones or tablets, they are finding that one of the best resources is their local public library. Lubbock residents can access a wide selection of popular eBooks, audiobooks and digital magazines free of charge at Lubbock public libraries. With a library card, community members can borrow from the digital collection by downloading Libby, OverDrive’s award-winning reading app, or by visiting: libbyapp.com/library/Lubbock

Additionally, Lubbock Public Libraries are hosting virtual live demonstrations on how to get started borrowing digital material through the Libby app. This free online event offers sessions for new and experienced users and takes place on Tuesday August 17th from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. Readers can browse Lubbock’s public libraries digital collection, instantly borrow titles, and start reading or listening for free with a valid library card. This service is compatible with all major computers and devices, iPhone®, iPad®, Android ™ phones and tablets, and Chromebook ™. Thanks to Libby, readers can also “send to Kindle®” [U.S. only]. All titles will automatically expire at the end of the loan period and there are no late fees. Readers can also download titles from Libby for offline use.
